Also, According to Joe, he tested it with caramel a few years ago - though none of the offspring made it out of the egg, they developed to full term and were all normals. So I do not believe this is at all related to caramel. It is recessive so it is also not related to Buf, Toffee, Yellow Factor, etc.

Congratulations! I wonder if it will indeed turn out to be a new morph, or just a really amazing line of something existing :) I also hope they end up looking as nice as the parent. For now they just look like slightly brownish aneries :p

I have to recant my above statement about caramels - Joe believes this morph to possibly be allelic to caramel, but a different mutation. when he hatched his het golden x caramel clutch he did see caramels and normals (though none made it out of the egg alive). caramel babies look much different than the golden babies, so Joe believes this may be allelic to caramel.
just wanted to clear all that up! :)

Yea, I read that ^^ However, there are of course more morphs they could be related to and just have a unique line look. For all we know they're just really, really amazing aneries. Not saying that's the case, but who knows :P This is why I'm interested in seeing these as adults as well :) To see if they keep this amazing look, or are rather "in between" an anery and a golden. Guess only time will tell!

Edit: Also, this really makes me want to go to America and just spend a year there catching corn snakes :P

Just a quick update on this! Joe paired two caramel females to a het golden male and got two clutches full of normals. I've acquired his two het males and the 5.7 surviving hatchlings from those pairings. Next year I will pair one or both males to novel caramel females to confirm his results. I will also raise the phets to start proving them out in a few years.

Photos of the babies and future updates for my chunk of the golden project can be found on my page: https://www.facebook.com/windserpents/ Eventually we'll get the actual website going...one of these days...
