Yemen chameleon?

Postby Russiantort55 » 23 Jan 2008, 23:43

Do you think this would be ok for a 5" male chamelon?

100 gallon flexarium
basking site
UV light
water dripper
branches and plants

then feed in a smaller tank?

yeah, im keeping things as simple as i can as i know some expensive, elaborate nice looking tanks are no good for the animal. I will read some more care sheets, see what else i can learn

I have 2 Yemens and i never feed them in a different tank to there home,
if u want a very tame cham start hand feed your chams, get some meal worms and put a few mealworms in the palm of your hand and hold them quite a few inches away from the cham he will zap them with his tongue.
When giving the cham outside time out of his viv how do u get him out the viv?

There isn't really much point in drippers, unless you get an automatic misting system. Just get a normal water sprayer it's much easier and yemens tend to prefer it. As for feeding, get on of those big ice cream tubs and place it in the viv - you can put crix in there without them escaping.
