'Transparent' belly scales: is it a het marker?

Postby Corns.dk » 07 May 2012, 19:28

I have just now noticed that one of my two remaining Granites from last year's breedings has a lot of 'clear' ventral scales, or partly clear scales. The other one has a plain white belly without any 'clear' (or transparent) spots.
Is this just a common corn thing or is it related to some specific morph? E.g. a marker for Pied sided?
(I remember a post on the issue one or two years back but I have not been able to re-locate it)
Best wishes,
Lone

My bloodred had clear areas as a hatchling. Not het for pied.

Hey. I think this is a fairly common occurrence in diffused corns. We have a good few that are like it.

Mainly the het pied ones but I'm not convinced it is a marker for anything specifically.

Cheers
