Our new sliders.

Postby Melbat » 29 Sep 2010, 18:02

Hi All,
Im going to post a picture of our 2 new additions to the family that arrived with us at the weekend.
We have never kept these before but are learning more daily.
I always thought they were boring but they can be sooo entertaining and I'm loving them already.

We got them from my daughters friend who had only had them a month or so.Before that we believe they came from a place where they weren't cared for too well. :(

Anyhow below is a pic of Snappy and Vern,we have been told from another forum that they are suffering with scute retention and mineral deposits so we are trying to get them to eat their greens at the moment (not easy knowing what they will eat really, not knowing their history).

Snappy is the guy "on top" and he seems to bully a Vern a little when in the water, but nothing too bad at the moment. We are just happy they are basking as they had spent the whole weekend in the water and it was beginning to worry us a little.Snappy is roughly 5inches and Vern is about 4 so and we have no idea of their ages.
