You're welcome. At the moment I'm converting a bookcase (by cannibalising a second one) into a hatchling rack, this time using radiator foil on the backing board and running the cable along the back board too so I can keep the shelves adjustable in case of emergency ;) Hopefully the radiator foil means I can save on some electricity while keeping the temps up. With a pulse themostat too of course.

It's stuff you buy specially to put at the back of radiators to reflect the heat back into the room - basically foil on a spongy backing, so easier to manipulate than cooking foil ;)

I use this stuff at the moment to try and save electricity on the heating by putting under the heat mat and RUBs. Hoping it'll also stop heat leaking down through the shelves and warming up the tubs below. We also have a large tank (over several feet) that has a growing collection of African Land Snails in, and we've surrounded tank with radiator foil to keep the heat in. Very useful stuff!
(Sorry to deviate further from the topic :D)

It's a great idea just as long as the temps are kept in check with a thermostat :)

Definitely, but it also helps if the extension lead that the thermostats are plugged in works. Had see-sawing temperatures for the last day or so because I couldn't figure out what wasn't working properly, but it appears to be the extension lead. So need to buy a new one asap :D
