White patch on brown rat snake

Postby Wadey » 18 Mar 2012, 08:55

My brown coloured rat snake Richie shed last night. This morning I noticed a small white patch on this back. There is o protrusion or texture change, just colour change. All else seems OK.

Does anyone know what this is please?

Thank you.

Like Ian said do you have a photo?

But My female last year was trying to escape and gotten stuck in a tiny holein the back of the viv! She somewhat rubbed abit of her side which didn't look like much damage but the scales were crinkled! When she shed there was no red/orange colouration and to this day its still missing some, Not all colouration as came back but most has! its was white when it happened, She did looks like she had abit of a pied effect for awhile..... Do you know if its rubbed its self? do the scales look damaged?

Sorry, it won't photograph- it's small and the reflection won't allow it. It's about 1 cm long and covers half of one row of scales and half of the next.
Yesterday was the next day after shed and he refused food. This is unheard of for him. He is also quite restless (which happens from time to time).

It is possible he has injured himself, but it was not done in front of me.
